Tsai, Tsung-Han | Director & Screenwriter
Tsung-Han has a BA in Economics from the National Taiwan University and a MFA in Film Production from the Taipei National University of the Arts. He was an alumnus at the Golden Horse Film Academy helmed by the esteemed auteur Hou Hsiao-Hsien in 2009.
Tsung-Han’s first TV drama script Wild Lily was in the final competition in Taiwan Public Television Service’s One Million Dollar Original Script Contest. He was in the writing team for the renowned director Chih-Yen Yee’s TV drama series, Dangerous Mind (2006). It was nominated for the Best TV Series Script at the Golden Bell Award, Taiwan’s equivalent of Emmy Awards. He subsequently worked with many established directors such as Doze Niu, Tom Lin, Ta-Pu Chen. His first feature film screenplay Winds of September (2009) won the Best Screenplay Awards at the Golden Horse Awards, Taipei Film Festival and Chinese Film Media Awards. It was also nominated the Best Screenplay at the Asian Film Awards.
Tsung-Han’s first directorial short, My Grandma (2008), was nominated for the Best Short Film at the Golden Horse Awards and Shanghai International Film Festival. His second short film Love After Time (2016) is nominated for the Best Short Film in 2017 Golden Horse Awards and Taipei Film Festival.
